Desert City Youth exists to nurture a robust, embodied, and orthodox faith in the students who are part of our church body. We see our youth programs as launching points and a transition period for a lifelong relationship with the triune God.

Middle School Ministry (6-8th Grade) at Desert City serves as a transition zone for students exiting children's ministry and entering into full participation with our church body on Sunday mornings. Our Sunday morning MS service is designed to feel like a normal Sunday morning gathering, but in a condensed format that also incorporates time for fellowship and games.

Teaching our youth to worship "in spirit and in truth" (John 4) is one of the main objectives of our MS Sunday morning gatherings. We have peer-led worship most weeks at MS, challenging our students to express their devotion to God with their bodies and voices.

Learning directly from God's word is an important value for our church; on Sunday mornings we incorporate shorter-expository messages to prepare middle school students for preaching on Sunday mornings at our main worship services.

Because we believe community is created when we share meals together, we serve breakfast snacks every Sunday.

That the next generation might know them, the children yet unborn, and arise and tell them to their children, so that they should set their hope in God and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments.

Our teachings and small groups focus on spiritual formation and application, leaving expository teaching for our church-wide Sunday morning gatherings.

Every Sunday night we provide fun food and drinks, trying to embody the way that Jesus shared meals with people of all walks of life. We also know that teenagers are always hungry and are in a better mood with full bellies.

Halfway through our evenings we provide separate spaces for high school and middle school students. High school students experience an extended time of worship, deeper teaching, and small groups. Middle schoolers get a condensed teaching, short small group time, and finish with a game or fun activity.
