Church groups at Desert City Church in Phoenix, Arizona

Why Groups?

Groups are a way of living out our purpose, both as individuals and as a collective group of people—to be the church. It’s in smaller groups that people can get close enough to know each other, to care and share, to challenge and support, to confide and confess, to forgive and be forgiven, to laugh and weep together, to be accountable to each other, to watch over each other and to grow together. At Desert City Church there are many different groups to connect with: men, women, bible studies, co-ed small groups, adult ed classes, and more.

We’re so glad you’re here.
At Desert City, we believe the Church isn’t just a place you go on Sundays — it’s people, following Jesus together in everyday life. Our Groups are where friendships grow, faith deepens, and God’s mission takes root in the neighborhoods we call home.

Our prayer?
That God’s Kingdom would come, and His will would be done in Phoenix, in our neighborhoods, as it is in Heaven.

At Desert City, we believe life with Jesus isn’t complicated. When we simply gather, something sacred happens — friendships deepen, faith grows, and lives are changed.

The world is hungry for two things: deep belonging and a reason for hope.

Life is busy. Relationships can feel shallow. Following Jesus isn’t easy to do alone. Groups give us a place to slow down, share life, and walk with Jesus together. It’s where the big church becomes your church family. This is why we say Groups are simple and sacred. The practices are simple — meals, prayer, conversation — but what God does through them is sacred: transformation, belonging, and hope.

And something beautiful happens when we live this out together:
• Mission deepens friendship — serving shoulder-to-shoulder bonds us like nothing else.
• Friendship strengthens faith — trust grows when we walk through life’s highs and lows together.
• Faith fuels mission — as our love for Jesus grows, we naturally want to share it with others.

This is the beautiful cycle of community — the inward and the outward constantly shaping each other. Deep relationships lead to mission, and mission deepens relationships. Both pull us closer to Jesus — and offer the world the belonging and hope it longs for.

A group of people committed to:
 • Meeting regularly (usually weekly)
 • Sharing meals and meaningful conversation.
 • Praying for and with each other.
 • Looking for ways to love our neighbors and serve our city.

Think of it as a family on mission — not perfect, but learning to follow Jesus together.

Groups remind us that simple things become sacred when we gather in Jesus’ name.

To Jesus
We pursue Him daily and invite Him to transform our lives.

To Each Other
We show up consistently, listen well, and make space for honest conversation.

To Our Church
We’re part of the bigger Desert City family, gathering on Sundays and supporting our shared mission.

To Our City
We pray for Phoenix and serve our neighborhoods with the love of Christ.
